Sonora — AI Device & Hardware
The Problem
An AI hardware product's success hinges on the first five minutes — unboxing to first use. The engineering depth was real, but setup was where the product would either build trust or lose the customer.
The Solution
Designed the device onboarding flow in the companion app and the on-screen controls, prototyping the riskiest handoffs shoulder-to-shoulder with the engineers — and carried that design language onto the website.
The Outcome
Shipped with a setup completion rate well above the category benchmark and strong first-week retention, plus a website launch that matched the product's personality end to end.
