What if you could hand off the busywork of your life — scheduling, follow-ups, research, reminders — to an AI assistant that's always on call, reachable the same way you'd reach a human?

Setting the Scene

Agent OC is a personal AI assistant built for busy professionals and business owners who are drowning in daily tasks. Instead of another app you have to learn, Agent OC meets you where you already are: iMessage, WhatsApp, or a direct phone line. You talk to it — or text it — the way you'd brief a human assistant, and it gets to work.

The Problem

People are drowning in daily tasks — scheduling, follow-ups, research, reminders — leaving no time for the work and life that actually matters. Hiring a human assistant is expensive, hard to scale, and out of reach for most professionals. Existing productivity apps still require you to do the work yourself; they just organize it. The gap isn't a better to-do list — it's someone to actually do the doing.

What made it hard

  • Trust: people had to believe an AI could reliably represent them on a phone call or in an email to a real person
  • Reachability: the assistant had to meet users on channels they already lived in — iMessage, WhatsApp, voice — not force them into a new app
  • Latency and naturalness: phone calls had to sound human and respond in real time, not robotic and delayed
  • Scope: the assistant had to handle a genuinely broad range of tasks — calls, email, research, social posting, automations — not just one narrow workflow
  • Pricing model: had to feel like hiring a capable assistant, not like buying software credits

The breakthrough wasn't building a smarter chatbot — it was making an AI assistant that behaves like a human one: reachable on the channels you already use, proactive with morning briefings, and trusted to act on your behalf.

What the Research Revealed

  • Busy professionals didn't want another app — they wanted to offload work through the same messaging and voice channels they already used all day
  • Trust was the central design problem: users needed to feel confident the assistant would represent them accurately in real conversations with real people
  • Morning briefings were the highest-value touchpoint — users wanted to wake up already knowing what the assistant had handled and what needed their attention
  • Voice was non-negotiable for certain tasks (phone calls) but text was preferred for review and approval — the assistant had to be fluent in both
  • A flat monthly fee resonated far more than usage-based pricing — it felt like hiring a person, not buying credits

The Approach

I designed Agent OC as a personal AI assistant that's always on call. It makes phone calls on your behalf, drafts and sends emails, does research, posts on social media, sets up daily automations, and delivers personalized morning briefings. You can reach it via iMessage, WhatsApp, or a direct phone line — just like a human assistant. The experience is built around trust and delegation: you brief it once, it handles the rest, and it reports back.

Meet users on existing channels

Instead of a dedicated app as the primary surface, Agent OC is reachable via iMessage, WhatsApp, and a direct phone line — the channels busy professionals already live in. This removed the adoption barrier of learning a new tool.

Real phone calls on your behalf

Agent OC can make actual phone calls — booking appointments, following up with clients, confirming reservations — sounding natural and responding in real time, so it can handle the voice tasks users don't have time for.

Personalized morning briefings

Each morning, Agent OC delivers a briefing of what it handled overnight, what's on your calendar, what needs your attention, and what it's proactively working on — so you wake up already caught up.

Daily automations, not just one-off tasks

Users can set up recurring automations — weekly research digests, scheduled social posts, follow-up sequences — so the assistant compounds value over time rather than only reacting to requests.

Assistant pricing, not software pricing

Priced as a service starting at $199/month — framed as hiring an AI assistant, not buying a tool — replacing thousands in staffing costs for a fraction of the price.

Proving It Out

Agent OC is launching as an AI-powered personal assistant service for busy professionals and business owners. The product is positioned to replace thousands of dollars in staffing costs with a single subscription, starting at $199/month.

  • Designed and shipped a working personal assistant reachable across iMessage, WhatsApp, and voice
  • Built real phone-call capability so the assistant can act on the user's behalf in live conversations
  • Created a morning briefing system that makes the assistant's work visible and builds daily trust
  • Established a service pricing model that frames the product as hiring an assistant, not buying software

Beyond the Numbers

  • The hardest design problem wasn't capability — it was trust. Every interaction had to make the user feel comfortable handing over real, consequential tasks to an AI
  • Morning briefings became the emotional anchor of the product — the moment each day where the assistant proves its value before the user even asks
  • Framing the product as 'an assistant' rather than 'a tool' changed everything about how users interacted with it — they delegated instead of operating

What I Took Away

Designing Agent OC reinforced that the future of personal AI isn't a smarter app — it's an assistant that behaves like a person: reachable where you already are, proactive without being noisy, and trusted to act on your behalf.

  • Reachability beats features — meeting users on iMessage, WhatsApp, and voice did more for adoption than any in-app capability could have
  • Trust is the product in agentic AI — every call, email, and automation has to make the user more comfortable delegating, not less
  • Proactive value (morning briefings, daily automations) compounds trust faster than reactive task handling alone
  • Pricing as a service rather than software reframes the relationship from 'using a tool' to 'employing an assistant' — and users behave accordingly

What's Coming Next

Expanding the assistant's autonomous task library, deepening integrations with calendar, email, and CRM systems, and adding a review-and-approval layer for higher-stakes actions so users can delegate with even more confidence.
